Center for Mind Body Health is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a mission to empower people to heal their hearts and minds through the use of group retreats and ongoing community classes. It is our desire to help people restore and renew the human body and mind through education, transformation, and healing.
Recovery Part 2: Embracing Life
A weekend retreat to assist those in recovery from chemical abuse, designed to help them move past the survival stage and learn to embrace life, enjoying the moments, and discovering new paths that lie ahead.
Mindful Self-Compassion 8 week training
An ongoing class offered at various times throughout the year, focusing on how to approach the suffering in our lives and teaching us to become our own best friends. Developed by Dr. Kristen Neff and Dr. Chris Germer, this program is being taught all across the world, helping people to heal and to move past insecurity, anxiety, and depression.
These are small, half-day retreats that are offered on various topics such as Mindfulness in Recovery, Mindful self-compassion, and meditation.
A week long retreat focused on creating space for people to renew and restore when they are in acute stress or are experiencing burnout in their career or life. A big emphasis will be placed on developing healing habits and a new mindset.
Mindset for Growth
A weekend retreat designed to catapult individuals from a place that feels “stuck” to a level of movement and growth. The program will include information from a wide group of leaders and wisdom teachers, allowing those participating to choose guidance that is relevant and effective in their lives.
Healing the Trauma Response
A week long retreat for those suffering from a trauma response, have had significant treatment through appropriate psychiatric programs, but are seeking skills in getting past the trauma response that affects them mentally and somatically. Meditation and other healing arts will be taught. This will be a great adjunctive program for people in therapy, individuals who are veterans of the wars, and those who are first responders or have had other traumas in their lives.
Mindful Self-Compassion 5 day retreat
A week long retreat teaching the same MSC program but taught in 5 days in a retreat setting. This program will be led by a Certified MSC teacher. The retreat setting adds a new dimension to the training involved in MSC.
Classes in yoga for different levels of fitness and understanding.
Various forms of meditation will be offered, such as mindfulness meditation, movement meditations, and mind body skills class.
Eating from the garden
A class designed to teach people how to grow their own delightful array of food. Preparation of practical healthy meals as well as nutritional guidance will be offered.
Additional classes will be offered when we get our own property for the retreat center, and as teachers are available.
Individual sessions are available for those requesting more private guidance.
